//Over 1,500 responses to a recent CathNews reader survey was an amazing result and a ringing endorsement of the service provided by the newsletter to Australian Catholics, according to the Executive Director of Church Resources, Fr Michael Kelly.
Fr Kelly said the return rate of the survey was approximately 11 percent of the publication's subscriber base, over three times the standard return rate of similar surveys.
He said respondents strongly endorsed the current format of the publication with 89.1 percent of them either strongly agreeing or agreeing that the mix of news and features were useful. Even more telling was that 90.4 percent of CathNews readers found the publication either very informative/well balanced or usually of assistance to them.
"Just as pleasing as these excellent results was that we received over 750 suggestions to improve the newsletter," Fr Kelly said.
"This will give us a lot to work with so we can continue to meet the needs of our readers into the future," he said.
Fr Kelly thanked all respondents for taking the time and effort to complete the survey and asked everyone to continue their fantastic support for CathNews.
A total of 1,531 respondents were received. Two respondents have been selected and notified as winners in the competition for completing the survey. They will receive a dozen bottles of wine from SevenHill Cellars in South Australia.
