Opinion - All one in the eyes of God

We are all made in the image and likeness of God, and in the heart of God there is a unity that deepens and goes beyond how we have divided ourselves. It doesn’t matter whether we are black or white or brown or olive. It doesn’t matter if we are powerbrokers, it doesn’t matter what money we have, it doesn’t matter what authority we have.

We must also ensure our indigenous sisters and brothers feel welcome in our communities, our parishes and our dioceses. We must make a clear statement that we want them to feel they are totally accepted, fully welcome, and give them the dignity they so richly deserve.  There is a common humanity that joins us all in the eyes of God. - Bishop Greg O'Kelly, The Southern Cross (click below for full article)
